Lot details Registration No: EGO 129 Chassis No: GRP24 Mot Expiry: Sep 2014
Boasting a sunshine roof, headlining-mounted retractable division and `Airline' styling, the sophisticated Touring Limousine coachwork which adorns chassis GRP24 was crafted by Park Ward. The subject of a cancelled sale to Mrs Daisie Mignot, the 25/30 subsequently passed through the hands of Jack Barclay, C.J. Campbell Steen, radio personality Wilfred Pickles and Messrs Cupal Ltd before being discovered in an abandoned London lock-up by Murray Pearce of coachbuilder Joseph Cowlin & Co during 1980. Recommissioned after circa 30 years' inactivity, the Rolls-Royce then belonged to Edward Evans, Peter Harper and Mrs P. Radcliffe prior to entering the current ownership via Sotheby's October 1992 auction. Believed but not warranted to have covered 68,000 miles from new and MOT'd until September 2014, the past 21 years have seen `EGO 129' treated to a Ristes-supplied overdrive, cylinder head overhaul, bare metal respray, re-connolised (original) leather upholstery, reconditioned starter, new wiring, refurbished petrol tank and fresh tyres etc.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
