Lot details Registration No: 931 UYE Chassis No: XPA6TF34038 Mot Expiry: Exempt
Introduced in 1953 and based on the MG TD MKII, the TF was intended as little more than an interim model pending the arrival of the all-new MGA two years later. However, its fared-in headlights and a sloping radiator grille endowed it with notably more modern looks than its predecessors, and some 9600 were sold during the short production run; good examples of which are highly prized today. The handsome 1250 TF offered was fully restored in 2012, when the MG displayed (an unwarranted) 49,840 miles and has apparently travelled just 200 since; meaning the refurbished engine is not even fully run in. The vendor informs us that Old English White paintwork and Red vinyl trim are in 'as new' condition, while the wire wheels have been correctly finished in Silver rather than chrome plate. '931 UYE' is now being offered complete with manuals, handbook badge bar and pair of auxiliary lights.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
