Jim Crawford's Indianapolis Race Suit

Lot 232 (Stoneleigh Park, 13th March 2010)

Sold for £270

(including buyers premium)

Lot details

Given to Barrie as a gift, this actual suit was worn by Crawford when he broke the lap record at the Indianapolis. Manufactured by `Simpson', it features `Jim Crawford' & blood type in red to the right breast, plus a BRDC badge to the left breast. The suit retains its original hook for neck support on the left shoulder & an envelope containing a selection of patches reputedly removed from the suit. An important piece of Indianapolis history.
