The Venom represents for many both the pinnacle of development of the M series high cam singles, particularly in Thruxton form and the ultimate example of the traditional British single. Developed over successive years, by 1960 the Venom was available in two different forms for 1960, the standard model which featured a fibreglass cowl over the engine and in Clubman's form. The Clubman differed from the standard model in a number of ways, the engine breathed through an Amal TT carburettor with a racing magneto providing the spark. Rear-set footrests and controls and low handlebars promoted a more sporting riding position whilst a high compression head and close ratio gears increased performance and helped exploit it.
This machine has formed part of a private collection since 1979 and has not been used on the road during that time. The condition of the engine is described by the vendor as being excellent with all other aspects being described as good. It is accompanied by a Swansea V5 and an original logbook.
PLEASE NOTE: The registration number for this motorcycle is actually 207 JFC and not as shown in the catalogue.
