From the outset the value of success in competition was appreciated by the Bultaco company. An example of the Tralla 101 was entered in and won its class in Montjuich 24 Hours race prompting the release of a number of competition parts, such as a close ratio gearbox and an expansion pipe for the machine. The introduction of the Metralla 62 was accompanied by a more comprehensive set of spacial components which when fitted in their entirety converted the new machine into a competitive production racer. Known as the Kit America, it consisted of an expansion chamber exhaust system, nose fairing, large capacity fuel tank, single racing seat clip-on handle bars and revised gearing. The kit continued to be offered after the introduction of the Metralla Mk 2 in 1966.
The machine offered incorporates some of the Kit America fittings including the fuel tank and nose fairing. A ventilated twin leading shoe front brake and racing tachometer are fitted as are a set of rear-sets, clip-ons expansion chamber, short front mudguard and racing saddle.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
