Lot details Registration No: JRR 353V Frame No: JHNCX500-2006519 Engine No: CX500E-2206522 cc: 496 MOT Expiry Date: March 2006
This CX500 twin was built in Honda's Japanese factory in 1980 and, the vendor tells us, was completely rebuilt by a classic car restoration expert for his personal use, though with ex-factory specification faithfully retained. Following acquisition by the current owner in July 1997, the bike has only done a further 1500 miles and has been hardly ridden at all from 2002 due to interests in four-wheel collector vehicles taking precedence.
Following the refurbishment by the previous owner and as a result of such little exposure to any use and subsequent wear and tear since, both cosmetic and mechanical condition are claimed to be excellent with red, black and chrome colour scheme very good. The frame and the suspension components as well as all the cycle parts are in very good shape, too, whilst the 496cc capacity, two-cylinder, overhead-valve engine is reportedly in very good order and the shaft-driven transmission excellent as are the electrics including the battery.
The mileage displayed when entered for this sale had only risen to 15,192 miles, whilst the MOT has been freshly passed and the bike will not require re-testing until March of next year.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
