H &H are indebted to the vendor for the following description :-
I bought this 1935 Morris Twenty 3 years ago. After messing around with Riley 9s and a Wolseley Hornet I liked the idea of a more powerful pre-war car. The fact that the Morris is also quite rare and underrated made the decision easier.
The Morris was built in 1935 and was offered in the 16HP and 20HP versions. Due to the then tax laws the 20HP was not very popular and today there are only 8 mentioned on the Morris Register. It was obviously taking on the higher end of the market with in-built tables and foot rests for the rear passengers.
The Morris was re-discovered in 2001 in a very poor state and over the next 5 years re-built to what you see today. I have just completed a full engine re-build with new white metal bearings all round. The oil pump and water pump were refurbished at the same time.
The brakes were completely overhauled; refurbished brake cylinders and new, re-covered brake shoes all round. The brakes are excellent.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
