- Part of a museum collection for many years
- Offered for sale from long-term family ownership
- A potentially rewarding project in need of recommissioning
Further info:
This delightful two-seater Austin Tourer is finished in Dark Blue, trimmed in Black/Blue and topped by a Beige hood. It apparently formed part of a museum collection for many years and is now offered for sale from long-term family ownership. Looking remarkably unmolested with its semaphore trafficators and slightly frosted oval rear window, it is need of a degree of recommissioning before returning to the road once more. A potentially very rewarding project that should be well within the scope of the average amateur enthusiast. Apparently inspired by the Peugeot Quadrilette, the now immortal Austin Seven was announced in 1922 and immediately became the smallest four cylinder-engined car on the British market. It featured four-wheel brakes, suspension by semi-elliptic transverse spring at the front and quarter elliptics at the rear, while steering was by worm and wheel. The Seven remained in production from 1922 until 1939, during which time some 290,000 were produced.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
