Founder and Chief Auctioneer of H&H Classics, Simon Hope has well over thirty years’ experience on the rostrum auctioning classic cars, motorcycles, aircraft, oriental carpets, antiques etc.
An avid classic car enthusiast from a very early age he grew up opposite Terry Harrison (works rally navigator for BMC) and watched some of the very best cars in the world queue up outside on their way to Ireland for the Gordon Bennett Rally in the late 1950’s.
He bought his first classic car, a 1947 Sunbeam Talbot Ten while still at school and took it to University with him. By year two he had an AC Ace and some great cars followed including De Dion Bouton, Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Riley, Cadillac, Jaguars, Aston Martins, Maseratis, Lotus, Ferraris plus his coveted Mille Miglia Allard J2.
