1952 JAGUAR XK120 ROADSTER RESTORED BY SARGENT METALWORKS, TWICE PEBBLE BEACH CONCOURS D'ELEGANCE WINNERS, CONSIGNED TO H&H CLASSICS’ JUNE 24TH LIVE AUCTION ONLINE SALE

This beautifully restored example of a 1952 Jaguar XK120 Roadster is for sale on June 24 with H&H Classics in their Live Auction Online.

In 1949 the first production car was delivered to Hollywood heartthrob Clark Gable.

The car caused a sensation when it was introduced to the public. The "120" in the name refers to the car's 120 mph (193 km/h) top speed (faster with the windscreen removed), which made it the world's fastest production car at the time of its launch.

The car was entrusted by its previous American owner of over 30 years to Sargent Metalworks of Bradford VT for a 'multi-year, frame off restoration' which was completed circa 2015.
Since winning 'Best in Show' at the 2003 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance with a 1936 Bugatti Type 57SC, Sargent Metalworks has built-up an amazing portfolio of past restoration work which includes numerous Bugattis and a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO.

Uprated for fast road and vintage rallying usage complete with a tuned engine (C-Type cylinder head), louvered bonnet, Le Mans-style fuel filler cap and Moto Lita steering wheel, the Jaguar was intended for use on the Mille Miglia Storica.

It is described as being in 'very good overall' condition and offered with an 'incredibly detailed history file'.
