Dozens of classic car owners and enthusiasts gathered to enjoy the inaugural H&H ‘Classics & Coffee’ evening in the magnificent surroundings of The Renaissance at Kelham Hall in Nottinghamshire.

The event was a relaxed occasion and proved to be the ideal opportunity for enthusiasts to meet and talk with the H&H Classics team at the breathtaking venue in Newark, Nottinghamshire, which has recently been added to its auction calendar, with the first sale taking place on Wednesday 10th September.

One of the stars of the free-to-attend event, and befitting of its surroundings, was a majestic 1963 Mercedes-Benz 300SL, estimated at £650,000–£750,000. It is one of only around 210 cars to be fitted with Dunlop four-wheel disc brakes and will be auctioned in September’s eagerly anticipated sale.

There were also well over 100 classics in attendance, ranging from a 1923 Bentley 3 Litre TT Tourer to the iconic 1968 De Tomaso Mangusta, better known as the ‘Kylie Mangusta’ thanks to its appearance in the video for the number one hit Can’t Get You Out of My Head. The event also welcomed numerous Fast Fords, modern Porsche GT3s and a handful of striking hot rods – offering a truly eclectic cross-section for all tastes.

Colette McKay, managing director at H&H Classics, said: “Our Classics & Coffee event was a wonderful opportunity to meet like-minded enthusiasts, share stories, appreciate the cars on show and talk all things classic. Unsurprisingly, the beautiful 300SL that we will be offering for sale here in September looked fantastic against the stately backdrop, and attracted a great deal of attention.

“It was also lovely to see so many cars we had previously sold at the event – a real testament to the enduring relationships we build with our clients and the passion they have for their vehicles.”

As well as meeting and talking with specialists from H&H Classics, other highlights of the event included the preview of a 1970 Jaguar E-Type 4.2 2+2, which is going under the hammer at the company’s next auction on 25th June.

Alongside the cars and conversation, there was also great coffee served against the background of the stunning 19th-century stately home, set within 42 acres of picturesque gardens and manicured lawns.

Colette added: “It was a fantastic success, allowing enthusiasts to experience this magnificent venue while mingling with fellow classic car devotees and our team members, who are also keen admirers of classic cars and motorbikes.

“We’re looking forward to hosting more of these relaxed gatherings at Kelham Hall – and we’re excited to welcome even more enthusiasts to our next Classics & Coffee evening on Tuesday 16th July.”

Alex Hopkins, Director of Sales, at Kelham Hall, said: “We were delighted to welcome H&H Classics and so many enthusiasts for the inaugural ‘Classics & Coffee’ evening, which was also a first event of this type for us.

“Kelham Hall, with its breathtaking buildings and surroundings, is the ideal venue to showcase some truly stunning classics in a relaxed environment. We look forward to H&H Classics hosting its first auction with us in September and for many more evenings like this one.”
