Merry Christmas from all of us at H&H Classics

Dear Friend of H&H,

As 2018 draws closer, we reflect on some of the highlights from the last 12 months.

It doesn't seem that long ago we were promoting the unique 1964 Ferrari 330GT Nembo Spider which had been donated from the estate of the late Richard Allen to benefit the East Anglian Air Ambulance. Entered with No Reserve the bewitching two-seater went on to fetch £609,500. A result that enabled the charity to save even more lives via a new hangar and longer operational hours.

Other strong Ferrari results from IWM Duxford during 2017 encompassed the 1958 Ferrari 250GT PF Coupe rebodied as a LWB California Spyder which fetched £568,125 and the 1965 Ferrari 330GT 2+2 that sold for an impressive £196,875.

2017 also saw us make waves in WRC circles, with the much discussed 1996 'Colin McRae' Subaru Impreza WRC97 reaching over 600,000 people on social media - our strongest online campaign to date. The car proceeded to make £235,750 - the highest price ever paid for a Subaru. The result was achieved at the Royal Automobile Club’s magnificent Woodcote Park estate as part of our association with Motor Sport magazine’s highly prestigious Hall of Fame event.

Another new partnership forged within the past twelve months has seen H&H establish dedicated motorcycle sales at The National Motorcycle Museum. With motorcycles often exhibited within the museum itself ahead of each auction, the venue has already seen strong sales results with bikes such as a 1951 Vincent Black Shadow Series C fetching £85,125, a 1928 Indian 4 Model 401 fetching £52,000 and regularly high sale rates ranging from 75% to 86%.

Next year is set to be our 25th anniversary, and our preparations for this pinnacle year included integrating online buying and bidding into our auction services. Launched at our IWM Duxford auction in November, the new H&H Online platform accounted for some twenty-five percent of all sales that day not the least of which was the 1943 International Harvester M5 Half-Track Personnel Carrier. Dwarfing the other lots on offer it sold to an American H&H Online bidder for an estimate smashing £138,000.

To the delight of some of our long-standing patrons, you'll notice from our 2018 Auction Calendar that we plan to return to the Pavilion Gardens, Buxton next April. The move back to this venue has come at the end of their proposed two-year refurbishment, and we're delighted to have the venue back as part of our 25th anniversary year.

We hope you'll join us in our 25th anniversary celebrations throughout 2018, but for now we send our best wishes for the festive season ahead.

Merry Christmas
