The Series II Morris Minor of 1952 saw the model's original sidevalve engine replaced by the new, Austin-designed, 803cc OHV A-Series unit. A more major update in 1956 saw the powerplant increased in capacity to 948cc and the car renamed the Minor 1000 as a result. The rear window was also enlarged and the split-screen front one replaced with a single glass. The Minor's final iteration followed a year later and featured a further increase in engine capacity to 1098cc, a modified facia layout with recessed centre section in textured steel, a return of a glovebox lid for the passenger-side cubby hole, improved heater and more contemporary-looking front light units.
This right-hand drive 1969 Saloon features Smoke Grey bodywork and a Blue vinyl interior and was laid up for five years before being extensively restored in recent months. The work included fitting new: wings, sills and door bottoms; brake pipes, cylinders and handbrake cables; window rubbers; and a Gold Seal gearbox. The finished product was Waxoyled and the vendor now views the Minor's bodywork, interior trim and gearbox as "very good" and the paintwork and A-Series engine as "good". 'RVN 286H' comes complete with photographic proof of the restoration and an MOT valid until September 2013 and Road Fund Licence until August 2013.
