Registration No: F573RVL
Chassis No: 013LJ
Mot Expiry: Nov 2005

Although many Jaguar XJS were given the TWR treatment by the official Jaguar Sport specialists, some extensively modified both bodily and mechanically, the most desirable of the special versions of the XJS were produced in relatively small numbers under the famous Lister brand.
From the early 1950s, when Brian Lister raced a Cooper-MG and then a 1100cc Tojeiro-JAP, the Cambridge designer made MG and Bristol powered sportscars for Archie Scott-Brown to drive, culminating in the 1957 Lister-Jaguar. By 1959, Lister had produced thirty-four Jaguar and Chevrolet engined Listers.
With Brian Lister's permission, his famous marque was revived in 1986, when, apart from producing ten Lister-Jaguar replicas, Laurence Pearce and his Lister Cars of Leatherhead, Surrey, extensively modified some ninety Jaguar XJS coupes with V12 engines enlarged from standard 5.3 to 6 and even 7-litres and appropriately uprated suspension and brakes.
Offered here is one such Lister-engineered Jaguar XJS from November 1988 in blue with cream leather interior. Potent and super-quick, with special V12 motor of 5995cc capacity reportedly in excellent order and with desirable four-speed manual gearbox also said to be good, this Lister-XJS has a bodyshell which is claimed by the entrant to be good, too, with excellent panels and paintwork, good interior and electrics working well.
The 42,000 mileage displayed when entered for the sale is believed by the vendor to be the genuine total from new for this very high performance and road-ready GT. The current MOT certificate on file will be valid until the end of November.
