This late-entered 300SL first left the Mercedes-Benz factory in 1987. Not only does the right-hand drive two-door convertible have a factory-installed four-seater conversion and a soft-top, which is said by the vendor to be in excellent condition, but the car also benefits from having a factory hardtop.
Current condition of the bodyshell is described by the entrant as excellent as is the Signal Red paintwork. The specification includes Auto-shift with selectable `Sport' or `Economy' modes, walnut and biscuit leather interior, said to be good to very good, and a new Kenwood radio-CD player. The 2962cc six-cylinder engine is reportedly in excellent order as is the four-speed automatic transmission, while the alloys have recently been shod with new tyres.
The entrant claims that the roadster has only been driven during summer months and currently drives superbly. The mileage displayed when entered was 125,100, while we understand that there is full M-B dealer service history on file for the first 117,000 miles and that a recent service has been carried out. MOT certificate is valid until next September and the tax disc will be current until March.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
