Lot details Registration No: GTB602N Chassis No: SRH18140 Mot Expiry: Sept 2004
The 1965-introduced Silver Shadow was the first Rolls-Royce model to employ unitary construction rather than a separate chassis and body. It was also thought that the upright styling of the Silver Cloud III and sister Bentley S3 were beginning to look rather dated. The new model was even more directed at the owner-driver rather than the chauffeur up front/boss in back market. Initially, the pop Roller was fitted with a 6230cc engine similar to that of the R-R and Bentley predecessors, although the now familiar 6750cc V8 powered all Shadows from 1970.
This Silver Shadow first left the Crewe works in 1974. With 88,061 miles on the clock when entered, the bodyshell and white paintwork are currently described by the vendor as being good with the beige interior claimed still to be the original. Both the 8-cylinder engine and the 3-speed automatic transmission are reportedly in good order and the electrical is said to be good too. While the MOT certificates on file, the latest valid until September, date back to 2000.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
