Lot details Registration No: MSK 676 Chassis No: Y196716 Mot Expiry: Exempt
This Ford is a Two-Door Model Y that vacated the company's still relatively new Dagenham plant in 1936. It has clearly benefited from a degree of sympathetic renovation in recent times and its smartly-presented Black bodywork is complemented by Red interior trim and Cream-painted wire wheels. It appears to be decidedly original apart from the sensible addition of flashing indicators (the semaphore arms remain in place). `MSK 676' has been in its current ownership since 2004 and is now offered complete with AA badge, GB plate, V5C and three old MOT certificates to 2011. The Model Y was the first Ford specifically designed for markets outside of America and replaced the Model A in Europe. UK production ran from 1932 to 1937, during which some 175,000 examples were built. The Y was powered by a 933cc four-cylinder sidevalve engine that endowed the Ford with a top speed of c.60mph and 32mpg.
