Lot details Registration No: 96 VVX Chassis No: JRH23784 Mot Expiry: None
When launched in 1975 the Camargue was not only the flagship of the Rolls-Royce range, but arguably the world's most expensive production car; for the price of which you could have purchased five Jaguar XJ6s or 26 Minis! While it shared the platform of the Shadow and Corniche, the newcomer was the first post-WW2 production Rolls-Royce not to be designed in-house, and was penned by Paolo Martin of Pininfarina. Power was provided by a slightly uprated version of the company's ubiquitous 6.75-litre V-8 engine. The sale car hails from 1976 and is finished in Gold teamed with a Red hide interior. It has had six keepers to date, the most recent of which acquired the Camargue in 1990. The indicated mileage of 65,000 is believed but not warranted to be correct and '96 VVX' comes complete with the original handbooks and service record, and a collection of invoices and old MOTs.
PLEASE NOTE: The air conditioning compressor / clutch plate appears to be defective.
