Lot details Registration No: D511KWT Chassis No: WDB1070462A060849 Mot Expiry: Sept 2014
The third generation SL (R107) was launched in 1971. It featured a two-door monocoque bodyshell with fully independent suspension - double wishbones/coil springs at the front and semi-trailing arms/coil springs at the rear. Braking was by discs all round - ventilated on the front. The V8-powered variant was manufactured from 1980 to 1989, and with 240bhp on tap was a genuine 135mph car. 'D511 KWT' is a 1987 107 Series 500SL. A righthand drive example, it sports White bodywork and White factory hardtop complemented by a Blue hide interior. The Benz is reportedly a genuine one owner car that's very well presented and regarded by the vendor as having 'excellent' bodywork, paintwork, interior trim, V8 engine and automatic gearbox. It currently registers some 88,294 miles and is being sold complete with owner's manual, maintenance booklet and a full spare set of keys. An apparently very collectable, useable example of a well proven classic.
