Lot details Registration No: KHG149T Chassis No: GHD5-476432G Mot Expiry: May 2006
Some twenty-five years after it ceased production, the MGB remains as popular as ever. One of Britain's best-loved sportscars and an undoubted cornerstone of the indigenous classic car movement, the model's seemingly evergreen appeal must be due in some part to its handsome styling, spirited performance and balanced handling. Equipped with coil and wishbone independent front suspension, a 'live' rear axle, disc / drum brakes and rack and pinion steering, it was powered (in both 'Roadster' and 'GT' guises) by a 1798cc four-cylinder engine mated to a four-speed plus overdrive manual gearbox.
Finished in black with grey striped cloth upholstery, this particular example is described by the vendor as being "all good" with respect to its engine, overdrive gearbox, chassis, interior trim, bodywork, paintwork, electrical equipment and wheels / tyres. Said to have been fitted with a reconditioned engine as part of an extensive restoration, it is believed but not warranted to have covered 78,000 miles from new. Riding on steel wheels, this "excellent MGB GT" is offered for sale with MOT certificate valid until May 2006.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
