This Hurricane right-hand drive coupe was made in the Armstrong-Siddeley works in 1951. The vendor's father, a retired motor engineering lecturer, acquired it as a restoration project in 1988 having apparently stood for some twenty years. After several months work, the vehicle was put back on the road in 1990, though due to illness, it remained garaged until his recent death.
Currently, the chassis is claimed to be in good shape, two-door drophead coupe bodywork also rot-free, although the hood does require attention. Beige paintwork is said to be sound, though has marks and would benefit from repainting, and brown leather interior good with carpets in need of renewal. Electrical equipment reportedly works and engine condition is rated as being in sound condition and smooth-running, four-speed manual gearbox good, though exhaust and silencer requires attention.
The odometer indicates a reckoned to be genuine 46,000 total mileage. Although presently without MOT, according to the vendor, this rare drophead could make a most attractive 1950s classic with only modest expenditure.
PLEASE NOTE: This vehicle is a non runner.
