Rover's elegant P5 series was launched in 1958 and powered by basically the same 3.0-litre straight-six engine as the P4 Saloon. Designed by David Bache, the luxuriously-equipped `3-Litre' featured independent front suspension with wishbones and torsion bars and a leaf-sprung live axle at the rear. An early modification was the replacement of the 11in front drum brakes with a disc system. A MKII version offered more power and the option of a striking Coupe body. The engine output was raised once again for the MKIII variant of 1965, at which time the rear bench seat was replaced by a pair of individually-moulded chairs, increasing the comfort for four adults. The sale car is a MKIII example that hails from 1967, whose Blue bodywork is complemented by a Cream hide interior. Believed to have a gearbox fault of some description, it comes complete with V5C and two old MOTs from 2011-2013.
