Lot details

Registration No: BG53 ARU
Chassis No: SARRJSLPB4D311886
MOT: December 2021

  • Current (second) registered keeper since January 2005
  • Just 36,000 miles from new
  • Dark Grey cloth upholstery
  • Book pack (including service book)
  • 1.8 litre engine, five-speed manual gearbox

A clean sheet design developed during BMW’s custodianship of Rover, the 75 won What Car magazine’s ‘Car of the Year’ award in 1999. Allying modern dynamics to pleasingly retro styling (both inside and out), the newcomer could be had with a range of petrol and diesel engines (1.8 – 2.5 litres) mated to either manual or automatic transmission. Available in Classic, Club or Connoisseur trim levels (with an SE variant of each), the 75 was never achieved the commercial successful it deserved.

Finished in Silver with Dark Grey cloth upholstery, this particular example is described by the vendor as being in ‘very good’ (bodywork, paintwork, interior trim) or ‘excellent’ (1.8 litre engine, five-speed manual gearbox, electrical equipment) condition. Showing one former keeper on its V5C Registration Document, ‘BG53 ARU’ is warranted to have covered just 36,000 miles from new. The accompanying book pack includes a service book with four stamps, the last at 24,606 miles. Sparingly used in recent years, the Rover is said to be ‘a very good driver’ and ‘a lovely old car’. The spare wheel has never been fitted and the 75 possesses a MOT Certificate valid until December 2021. An inexpensive and practical modern classic.
