Lot details Registration No: N536HTU Chassis No: SCBZP15C6TCH57389 Mot Expiry: July 2005
After a successful run, the T Series Bentley and Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow sister model were replaced in 1980 by a new brace of cars with bodies designed by Austrian Fritz Feller. The new bodyshells were a little longer, wider and lower than the earlier models, and gave Bentley and R-R clients 30 per cent more glass area. Initially, the Bentley was named after the Mulsanne straight at Le Mans, where, prewar, the Bentley Boys had done so much to put W O Bentley's marque on the map. A Turbocharged Mulsanne came out in 1982 and a further improved Turbo R in 1985.
This Bentley Turbo R, a very luxurious and extremely rapid long-wheelbase 4-door saloon on model-correct alloys, was hand-built at the Crewe works in 1996 for the Elt Company, after which ownership changed to the Managing Director. It is claimed therefore that there have been a total of three registered keepers.
Finished in wildberry with interior trimmed in grey hide also piped in colour co-ordinating wildberry, N536 HTU is fully loaded with such factory options as Sat Nav, a top of the range radio and CD player, electrically-adjustable rear seats and picnic tables as well as a parking aid facility. Three tyres have been renewed recently. Current cosmetic and mechanical condition is described as being good by the vendor who believes that the 67,000 miles recorded when entered for the sale is the genuine total mileage.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
