This Canadian-built RHD Woodie was sold new in the UK in 1936. Little is known regarding its early years although it was registered to Lady Freake of Wantage in 1953. In the early 1970s it was re-painted black and the original registration DFC 805 changed to NAT 95.
In the mid 1970s it was acquired by an executive of Ford, Guy Bergaud, and re-registered 568 FAY. In the late 1970s Bergaud was transferred to France taking it to Paris where it remained for c.10 years.
When purchased by the vendor in 2008 it was subjected to a three year restoration which included overhaul of the engine, gearbox and back axle, custom-made dual-pipe stainless steel exhaust, 12v upgrade with electronic ignition and alternator, electronic and manual fuel pumps, Kenlowe fan, new wiring and the installation of rear sliding windows in place of the previous curtains. Finished in fawn the car comes with restoration photographs, Swansea V5, and assorted invoices.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
