This left-hand drive 911E was originally manufactured in Stuttgart in 1970. After much modification to 911S specification, the fixed head coupe was raced Stateside in SCCA Vintage events, competing at Moroso, Homestead and Sebring and many famous North American hill climbs. Triple Webers and higher performance cams and exhaust were fitted, the dry sump oil system having remote cooler and stainless steel braided hoses. The 5-speed box had shortened-throw gearlever, disc brakes on all four wheels Hawk 172B pads and brake pipes in stainless steel. A full padded roll-cage and racing fuel cell were fitted, the car lowered with corner weights adjusted, both front and rear anti-roll bars added and the front suspension braced.
Most recently, and just prior to importation from the dry State of Florida (which explains why the bodyshell is in such good and still original condition), the engine was serviced and the car prepared for the Copperstate 1000 Rally in Arizona. With all UK taxes and duties paid, the 911 crossed the Atlantic in May 2003, since when it has resided in a heated warehouse. Burgundy metallic painted bodywork, engine and transmission are all described as being in good order. With the original Florida registration document on file, and with an MOT test pass here, it could be issued with a UK registration for the road. History since 1996 is on file, as are USA SCCA racing log book and Porsche Club of America racing registration papers.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
