Lot details Registration No: BF 4456 Chassis No: 1216613 Mot Expiry: Exempt
Introduced in January 1928, the Falcon Knight Model 12 utilised a ladder frame chassis equipped with all-round leaf-sprung suspension and four-wheel drum brakes. Like every Falcon Motors Corporation product, it was powered by a 2.6-litre 46bhp sleeve-valve straight-six engine allied to three-speed manual transmission. Popular in export markets such as Scandinavia and Australasia, the Model 12 reputedly accounted for some 6,400 sales. Supplied new to Australia, this particular right-hand drive example is understood to retain its original Holden coachwork. Believed to be one of a small number of survivors worldwide, 'BF 4456' remained in single family ownership for its first sixty years. Past restoration work has self-evidently seen attention paid to the Falcon Knight's interior trim, brightwork and wooden wheels but its bodywork and patinated paintwork appear to be substantially original. Running and driving upon inspection, this imposing Vintage tourer is surely worthy of further conservation.
