Lot details Registration No: KOU 605 Chassis No: E1/SA/247R Mot Expiry: Exempt
Abbott of Farnham were commissioned to clothe just two Jupiters as Fixed Head Coupes and, as the other car was destroyed in Wales, `KOU 605' is the sole survivor. When acquired by the vendor in 2005 it had been off the road for many years. A `chassis up' restoration ensued during which the ash frame was remade / refitted by Alvis specialist Dave Adams of Darlington and the engine rejuvenated by Jowett aficionado Joe Leech using brand new Jowett engine castings and as many new parts as could be sourced; the vendor being responsible for overhauling the chassis and all moving parts. The two-seater was then reassembled using as many of the original components as practicable. Resprayed in White, its interior retrim was entrusted Eddie Farrell (another marque specialist). The now smartly-presented Jupiter was displayed on the Abbott stand at the NEC last November. A unique opportunity for the Jowett fraternity.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
