A total of 112,368 Triumph TR7s were produced between September 1974 and October 1981, first at Speke, Liverpool, then at Canley, Coventry, and finally, from 1980, cars were built by Rover in Solihull. The Harris Mann styled, wedge-shaped body shell of unitary construction was powered by an inclined four-cylinder, single- overhead camshaft engine of 1998cc capacity which produced 105bhp. Initially, a four-speed gearbox was fitted, though a five-speed transmission was employed from late 1976.
This TR7, a right-hand drive two-door sportscar, was made in 1982. The bodyshell is described as being good underneath with panels and silver paintwork in average condition. The blue and cream check cloth and vinyl trim is said to be average, and the 1998cc four-cylinder engine and the five-speed manual transmission as well as the electrical equipment reportedly in good order. The 87,000 miles displayed when entered for this sale is believed by the vendor to be the genuine total mileage from new, whilst the car was last successfully MOT tested only in at the end of September, so the certificate will be valid for virtually a full year.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
