Lot details Registration No: SH 8018 Chassis No: 723-0369 Mot Expiry: Sept 2005
This 1947-made Rover, a P2 12 4-Light saloon, lay undiscovered in a barn for many years before being recommissioned in 1993 and taken on by John Cable as a retirement project. Being an engineer, he had the necessary skills to carry out the work in his own workshop over a three year period. However, after ill health had sadly intervened, Philip Roy completed the restoration, there being photos and articles in the history file along with workshop manual, Club literature and parts catalogues.
This now really rather rare P2 presents itself well with chassis claimed to be in good shape and four-door bodywork and green paintwork in good condition. Green leather interior as well as wheels and tyres are also rated by the current owner as good, while both 1496cc four-cylinder engine and four-speed manual gearbox are reportedly in good order.
The 47,735 miles displayed when entered is believed by the vendor to be the genuine total. The current MOT will be valid until next September.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
