Everything about the design of the HI was subordinated to achieving the highest possible performance, a goal which Kawasaki achieved. However, in doing so compromises were made, the frame was marginal for the engines power output and the weight distribution was biased towards the rear, which, combined with a significant "kick" in the power band at 6000 rpm, resulted in considerably reduced front tyre wear and a thirst previously unheard of in the motorcycle world with 24 mpg being achieved by enthusiastic owners. Inevitably these anti social traits only served to enhance the machines appeal adding to its desirability then as now.
This UK registered example, dating from 1972, has previously formed part of a private collection in the States. Described by the vendor as being in "totally" original condition with "good" paintwork, brightwork, transmission electrics and cycle parts and engine it is offered with a Swansea V5C and a current MOT and road fund licence.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
