Lot details Registration No: EHF773F Chassis No: 36/7762 Mot Expiry: June 2014
Originally a coupe, 'EHF 773F' was converted into drophead coupe configuration prior to acquisition by the vendor. The original shell was retained and the work would appear to have been completed to a good standard although exact details of who carried it out are unknown. More recently the car was the subject of much restoration work by Automotive Sporting Heritage being completed in 2012 for which a photographic record accompanies the car. The black interior trim was replaced during the restoration and the engine and gearbox overhauled. The car has also been rewired with a new replacement loom. Boasting a spider chassis, the car retains its original engine and gearbox whilst subtle modifications include an aluminium fuel tank and radiator and semi-solid driveshafts. New Weber carburettors were fitted in June 2013. The vendor states the car has "very good" bodywork and Carnival Red paintwork, with electrics in good shape bar the driver's electric window. This stylish Elan is offered with V5 document, MoT to June 2014 and assorted invoices including those of Paul Matty.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
