Lot details Registration No: YAN614G Chassis No: PIK4378BW Mot Expiry: May 2004
The vendor of this Coventry-made Daimler V8-250 saloon tells us that on file are bills for over £4000 showing expenditure during the past four years on an unleaded fuel conversion as well as refurbishment of steering, brakes, exhaust, torque converter, radiator and distributor. Photos recording the top end overhaul and showing the cylinder heads stripped.
The 4-door saloon bodywork is described as sound and cosmetically generally presentable with only a few blemishes to the black paintwork. The tan interior is claimed still to be original and mostly good. The 2.5-litre 8-cylinder engine reportedly runs well and the 3-speed automatic transmission is said to be in good order. The original handbook and tool kit have survived, while the 88,000 miles displayed when entered for this sale is believed to be the genuine total mileage from new. The MOT certificate is current until May and, being of 1969 manufacture, this Midland classic qualifies for the Road Fund exempt tax disc.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
