Ford's Falcon model has a distinguished competition history winning, amonst many other things, the 1967 British Saloon Car Championship in the hands of Frank Gardner. This example won its class in the 2013 Malta Grand Prix meeting, and featured in Custom Car magazine in 1998. The cost of turning into a competition car was some £17,500 for parts alone, among which were: the 350bhp 302ci Ford V8 engine's SVO block, GT40 heads, roller rockers, Crane camshaft, MSD ignition, Headman headers and brand new Holley carburettor on Edelbrock manifold. Other parts include: a T5 gearbox from a 1996 Mustang; brand new limited slip differential; rear disc brake conversion; A-frame adjustable dampers on the rear and Shelby droop geometry, Bilstein dampers and one inch anti-roll bar on the front; Willwood four-pot disc brake conversion; cherry bomb exhaust system; new Yokohama tyres. This fast Ford is apparently street legal and eligible for a number of historic Saloon events.
