Lot details Registration No: RHV791R Chassis No: 7704/0378D Mot Expiry: Sept 2005
The Eclat was launched in October 1975, designated a 2+2 by Lotus Cars and very similar to the Elite apart from fastback rear body styling and being cheaper. A 3.73:1 differential was fitted compared to the Elite's 4.1:1 unit.
This Eclat, a 522 model two-door coupe with four-seat accommodation, was built at Hethel in Norfolk in 1977. On file are previous MOTs dating from 1990, the latest certificate renewed in September and valid until September 2005. Most service history is with the car detailing considerable expenditure. A CD system is fitted and a Lotus workshop manual included.
Currently, the backbone steel chassis is reportedly in good condition, the white painted bodywork good for age with only minor stress marks to the GRP, the interior, in brown leather and cloth, also good. The 1973cc four-cylinder engine is claimed to be in good order as are the five-speed manual transmission as well as the electrical equipment. The 82,800 miles displayed when entered is believed by the vendor to be the genuine total mileage from new.
