Further Info:
The paperwork accompanying `RWX 707' shows it was supplied new in March 1956 by Glovers of Ripon to a Dr J F E Johnson of Sunderland. Also on file is a letter by the second owner, Harry Cecil Brown of Leeds, recording his reluctance to part with the Rolls and mentioning its appearance in such TV programmes as Dennis Waterman's `Stay Lucky' and the Michael York film `Till We Meet Again'. According to the vendor, the car was treated to a comprehensive restoration and repaint during 2001, prior to being dry-stored in a Carcoon for 12 years. On acquiring the Rolls in July 2013, he had it recommissioned by Ristes Motors of Nottingham, during which the following were replaced: distributor cap, rotor, points and condensers; drive belts; rocker cover bushes and nuts; and battery. He considers the indicated mileage of 74,000 to be correct and the car's general condition to be `very good'.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
