News of a brand new model from the famous Bristol Douglas concern appeared in the specialist press during September 1945. The new machine typed the T35 employed a horizontally opposed over head valve, 348cc twin cylinder engine built in unit with a four speed gearbox equipped with a car type clutch and chain final drive. The exhaust system employed a cast alloy silencer mounted under the engine that quickly became known as a "woffle box" due ti the exhaust note it emitted. The new engine was mounted transversely in a frame that was technically interesting, featuring pivoted fork rear suspension with torsion bar springing and Douglas Radialdraulic forks which employed short leading links controlled by helical springs and hydraulic dampers housed in the fork legs. When tested the new model proved to be both quick for it class and well mannered.
The example offered was professionally restored prior to its purchase by the vendor in 2010 and was declared as being first registered in 1989 on the Swansea V5C suggesting that it had undergone a period of inactivity. Described as being in good condition both mechanically and cosmetically it is offered with a Swansea V5C, and a bill relating to the restoration.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
