GJ 6918 was first registered on the 14th June 1930 as recorded in the buff log book that accompanies the vehicle. The first recorded keeper is Harry Long, who to this day is still an active member of the Rudge Enthusiasts Club (REC). Harry passed the Rudge onto his friend, Henry Mason on 13th November 1957, and the vendor's father purchased the Rudge in the 1970's, and passed the Rudge on to the vendor in 2003 who undertook its restoration.
There are two Radial magazines included, one dated spring 2003, which has an article about Harry Long , and describes Harry acquiring the Rudge in parts, which he rebuilt and one from spring 2004 showing the machine before restoration, with an article about the vendors father.
Included with the machine are the original Motor Cycle Spare Parts Catalogue 1930 and the Handbook "how to take care of your Rudge-Whitworth 500 Special". Various receipts for parts related to the restoration and a CD showing all photographs for the complete dismantling and restoration completed in 2007. The Rudge will also be sold with the original rear carrier, rear seat and a chain guard, separately for fitting if desired together with the buff log book and a Swansea V5C.
