Lot 45 - 1993 Mercedes-Benz 320 E Trasco Limousine

1993 Mercedes-Benz 320 E Trasco Limousine

Lot details
Registration No: K285URT
Chassis No: WTF0520016LX80024
Mot Expiry: July 2005

According to correspondence on file, this Mercedes-Benz Limo is unique in that it was manufactured by Trasco Export of Bremen in Germany in 1993 to satisfy a special order from a Thai client, who, originally had intended that it would be the first of a planned fleet of nineteen additional cars to identical specification, but became insolvent. As a result, this Trasco Diplomatic 12inch stretched-limousine with four-doors and right-hand drive (suitable for both Thailand and the UK fortunately) in Nautic Blue and with black leather interior, which is said to have cost £75,000 plus tax, remained in Bremen for the next six years, being used as a Trasco demo vehicle when it was not being stored in the company warehouse. Their letter on file tells us it also transported overseas customers to and from the airport.
Based on a brand new M-B 320E, the Trasco spec added air-con, heat insulating glass, outside temperature gauge, electric opening windows, centre console in walnut with cool-box and glass cocktail cabinet and glasses, heated seats and foldable armrests in the front, Becker Europa radio and eight-hole wheels.
When sold in 1999, the Trasco letter to the purchasing UK Mercedes dealer confirms that the 3199cc six-cylinder powered car with four-speed automatic transmission had never been involved in any accident and the mileage when Type Approved by the German TUV in March 1999 was only 7940 kilometres. The current odometer reading indicates that when entered this figure had only risen to 37,300 kilometres, which can be warranted by the vendor as being the total from new. The current UK MOT certificate will be valid until next July.
