Until the 1980s, this delightfully-presented six-cylinder Austin remained within the same family before being passed on to a friend who restored the bodywork and overhauled the engine, gearbox, differential and brakes over a 20-year period. The vendor took over the task of refurbishment in June 2013 and has subsequently repainted the body in a pleasing combination of Blue and Black, restored the interior wood, and treated the York to a retrim in Grey leather. He not surprisingly now regards the venerable Austin as having 'excellent' bodywork, paintwork, interior trim and refurbished 2.1-litre engine, and 'good' four-speed manual gearbox. The car comes complete with its buff log book, V5C, original handbook, parts book and price list, service manual and a collection of old MOTs and tax discs. A fine-looking post-vintage Saloon that could serve as fun for all the family or be hired out for weddings, film work etc.
