Successor to the Silver Dawn, the Silver Cloud was manufactured from 1955 to 1958, during which time a total of 2,238 short-wheelbase and 122 long-wheelbase versions were produced. Supplied new to Lt Col Sir Peter Fawcett Benton Jones OBE of Stibbington Hall by Collier's Garage of neighbouring Wansford, chassis SYB170 had its guarantee issued on 31st May 1956. Changing hands several times thereafter, the Rolls-Royce has recently been treated to a pair of replacement rear wheel arches, followed by a repaint in Oyster over Maroon. It has also benefited from: a retrim in Grey hide; the restoration of the interior woodwork; an engine service; and an overhaul of the suspension, brakes and rear axle. Now ready to be enjoyed by a new keeper, `WEW 487' is being offered complete with fully-functioning self-lubrication system and an MOT valid to September 15, 2015. The Rolls's odometer currently displays an unwarranted 93,874 miles.
