Lot 40 - 1994 Bentley Continental R

1994 Bentley Continental R

Sold for £41,625

(including buyers premium)

Lot details
Registration No: H7 HAV
Chassis No: SCBZB03CIRCH52217
Mot Expiry: June 2005

Launched at Geneva in 1991, the Heffernan and Greenley designed Continental follows in the spiritual wheel tracks of the greatest Bentleys ever made: Barnato's `Blue Train' Gurney Nutting bodied coupe, the Embiricos two-door and, the most memorable of them all, the R Type Continental, the first model in years to be totally unique to Bentley and not shared with the then owners, Rolls-Royce.
In terms of presence and performance, a Continental has always been a big motor car with unrivalled comfort for two and ample luggage space for a Trans-Continental dash or a weekend spent searching out and enjoying great driving roads. In this capacity, the Continentals of the 1990s remain unbeatable.
This 1994 Bentley Continental R with Mulliner Park Ward two-door coupe bodywork is beautifully turned out in `Red Pearl' with ivory leather trim. The owner says it is very good underneath with excellent body panels and paintwork, very good alloy wheels and really excellent interior. The 6750cc V8, automatic transmission and electrical equipment are all reportedly in very good order.
The vendor acquired it from a Bentley specialist in December 2002, since when he tells us that the Continental has only been driven approximately 1500 miles and that the 51,000 mileage displayed when entered for this sale is believed by him to be the genuine total from new. We understand that the only reason that this stunning vehicle, which is MOTd until June, is being auctioned today is because of the owner's current business commitments denying him the time to use it.
