Mot Expiry: July 2007

Known internally as the 964, Porsche's new generation 911 debuted in 1989. Available in two- (Carrera 2) and four-wheel drive (Carrera 4) guises, its familiar silhouette clothed a radically revamped platform. Boasting a drag coefficient of just 0.32 thanks to its deeper bumpers, smoother sills and flatter floorpan, high-speed stability was maintained by a self-deploying rear spoiler that rose above 77km/h. Powered by an extensively reworked 3.6 litre air-cooled flat-six equipped with twin spark plugs per cylinder and re-mapped Bosch Motronic fuel injection, the 964 claimed an impressive 250bhp and 229lbft of torque. Fitted with a five-speed manual gearbox as standard, most variants were reputed to be capable of 0-60mph in 5.3 seconds and over 160mph. To help harness such performance, the Carrera 2 / Carrera 4 were fitted with power assisted rack and pinion steering, ABS brakes and all round coil-sprung suspension. Three 'firsts' for the 911, they resulted in notably sure-footed handling.

Finished in Amethyst with matching leather upholstery, this particular left-hand drive example is described by the vendor as being in "very good" condition with regard to its engine, five-speed manual gearbox, interior trim, chassis, bodywork, paintwork and wheels / tyres (while, he rates the electrical equipment as "good"). Reportedly "a Jubilee Limited Edition model that was imported from Germany in 1997", 'H247 JRJ' is further understood to possess "full service history" and to have covered some 162,000km (approximately 101,000 miles) from new. Fitted with a Category 1 Alarm / Immobiliser, MP3 player and Cup Alloys, it has apparently benefited from "a recent clutch, tyres and battery". Said to have been "last serviced in December 2006" (the same year in which it successfully completed a coast-to-coast rally), this striking 911 is offered for sale with MOT certificate valid until July 28th 2007.

All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
