1980 Porsche 924 Turbo

Sold for £5,850

(including buyers premium)

Lot details
Registration No: RRY849W
Chassis No: 93A0141760
Mot Expiry: Dec 2005

This is not only a 1980-built Porsche 924, and an original and desirable 924 Turbo at that, but the right-hand drive coupe has been seriously uprated to 924 Carrera GT hybrid specification. We understand that over the last four years the fixed head has not only been serviced and maintained by the Official Porsche Centre at Sutton Coldfield (formerly Porsche dealers Evans Halshaw Little Aston), but also mechanically restored by the same dealership's Porsche-trained technicians.
Apart from regular services and oil and brake fluid changes, this OPC's major work has included gearbox rebuild including first gear synchro and layshaft, engine top end rebuild and cambelt change, renewal of radiator and hoses, changing steering rack and shaft, fitting new fuel pump and relay, discs, pads and handbrake shoes. All receipts for work done by the OPC are included among paperwork which may be inspected in our documents office at Buxton.
Importantly with any turbocharged car, the turbocharger itself has been replaced around 4000 miles ago, there being a 924 Carrera GT style turbo intercooler fitted. Genuine Fuchs alloys are fitted as has a Safety Devices roll-cage, whilst the interior has been in receipt of a retrim including the headlining. Apart from having GTS headlamps, other external changes include a full 924 Carrera GT body-kit including front wheel and rear wheel-arches as well front and rear bumpers and a GTR rear spoiler.
Amethyst paintwork and black leather vendor-described as being in A1 condition, 84,351 mileage displayed when entered believed to be genuine and current MOT valid until December.
PLEASE NOTE: We are informed that this vehicle was subject to an insurance claim in November 1991.

All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
