OFFERED FROM A PRIVATE ENTHUSIAST'S COLLECTION

For many, the dreams of owning an original AC Cobra evaporated thirty years ago, as values of the remaining examples accelerated almost as fast as the cars themselves. Never had there been a better opportunity for the manufacture of evocations and numerous entrepreneurial companies stepped up to the plate. Among them was Magnum Engineering who focused their attention on the immortal 427. The Magnum 427 was designed by Mike Broad over twenty years ago and has been under constant development ever since. It is based on a unique, exceptionally rigid, round tube spaceframe and clothed in a single-skinned unstressed Kevlar composite body - the chassis incorporates crumple zones front and rear and impact protection at the sides. Unlike most Cobra replicas, it does not require a donor car and features fully adjustable rose-jointed, coil-and-wishbone suspension all round. Steering is by quick ratio rack and pinion and braking is by vented discs and four pot callipers at the front and sold discs at the rear. The car rides on original style `knock-off' replica Halibrand wheels and the engine exhausts through traditional four-into-one sidepipes - the engine is a matter for customer choice.

The Magnum on offer has covered just 187 miles since it was built to order for the vendor in the late `90s. Its muscular body is finished in White adorned with broad Black racing stripes front to rear and a Black interior. `YNK 683S' is reportedly powered by a 427 cu in (6997cc) Ford V8 engine with cross-bolted main bearings and the powerful unit drives through a new top loader gearbox equipped with Hurst shifter. This exciting motorcar comes complete with a selection of MOTs dating back to 2000 and both a V5 and V5C which show it to be registered as Lincoln. All it now needs is a new keeper with the time to unlock its full potential.

All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
