Lot details Registration No: UYU 330 Chassis No: SFE375 Mot Expiry: May 2013
This splendid-looking Standard Steel Saloon was manufactured in 1958 and features Black over Burgundy coachwork and Mulberry-coloured leather upholstery. The vendor informs us that it has had just two owners from new and been in his care since 1979, he also warrants the mileage of 133,625 as being correct. `UYU 330' was apparently repainted in 1997 and benefits from a K&N air filter and electronic ignition (the original items come with the car). Work carried out during the last 4,000 miles includes: a £6,500 brake overhaul by Dennis Pilling; new fuel pump, partial exhaust replacement, fresh damper linkage bushes and tyres; the rechroming of the over-riders and a full service by Bowling Ryan Ltd.
The vendor describes the Rolls as being in "very good overall condition" with no known faults apart from "the radio only working on the Home Service (!), the clock gaining a minute a day and a slight transmission leak". He is selling it complete with extensive service history, owner's manual and parts list (including gearbox manual) on CD, tool kit (incomplete), pump, jack, etc, most tax discs back to 1960, most MOTs from 1967 and one valid into May 2013. However, its top selling point is surely that `UYU 330' apparently carried H&H's Simon Hope to St Matthew's Church, Stretton on his wedding day!
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
