The Honda Motor Company was founded by Soichiro Honda in 1937, initially producing piston rings for Toyota. They made their first motorcycle in 1949 and within 10 years had become the biggest motorcycle manufacturer in the world. They have gone on to produce over 400 million two-wheelers as well as millions of other power products. The legendary CB750/4 was launched in 1969 to great acclaim and laid down the blueprint for the modern day superbike.
This 1976 CB750K6 was imported from the USA a few years ago and has undergone a thorough restoration by the current owner. The frame has been powder coated and the wheels rebuilt using stainless steel rims and spokes, the wheel rebuild itself costing £575. The fuel tank and side panels have been refinished back to original by Vale Paints, with the stripes painted in place not stickers, and the clocks have been refurbished by cb750faces.com at a cost of £358. All the chrome items are either new parts or re-chromed to a very good standard, in fact the owner had the mudguards done twice because he wasn't happy with the first job. Over £1200 has been spent on the chromework with the paintwork adding up to around £1100. About £3800 has been spent with the likes of Dave Silver, DK,CMSNL and Saisei Europe to get the bike to this standard, including the distinctive four into four exhaust system. Supplied with a current V5C, a few old MOTs and lots and receipts collected during the restoration process adding up to over £7000.
