This 1970 example has been in the same family ownership since 1982, however is now requiring a respray and some interior works. In Signal Red and Black Vinyl, the Vitesse has covered a total of 115,900 miles in its time. In 1962, and following pre war practice of fitting 6-cylinder motors in hitherto 4-cylinder powered chassis, Triumph introduced their Vitesse with 1596cc 6-cylinder engine in a lengthened Herald frame, with similar body panels and modified front end incorporating four headlamps. The Vitesse was built by Standard-Triumph from May 1962 to July 1971. The car was styled by Giovanni Michelotti, and was available in saloon and convertible variants, firstly with a 1600cc engine then latterly with a 2000cc version, which this model is fitted with.
