Postwar, the still essentially prewar conceived Citroen 11 in B form recommenced production in 1945, with the addition of the 15-Six from 1946. The 11BN was not put back in production until 1947. By 1952, both the 11B and the 15-Six bodyshells were given a built-in boot, while in 1955 the 11B was fitted with a new cylinder head, which increased power output to 60 bhp at 4000 rpm and top speed to 75 mph. In addition, in 1954/5, a total of 3062 15s with 6-cylinder engines were produced with very advanced air/oil rear suspension and automatic level control.
On offer here is a Paris built, lefthand drive 1954 Light 15, a classic front-wheel 'Traction', which is currently tested and taxed. The Michelin X tyres are said to be nearly new. The overall condition of black painted saloon bodywork, original grey interior, 1.9-litre 4-cylinder engine and 3-speed manual gearbox are described by the vendor as good, while the 96,000 displayed when entered is believed by him to be the genuine total for this very Gallic motor car.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
