Lot details Registration No: OFA430M Chassis No: CR25010 Mot Expiry: Oct 2004
Produced between November 1968 and July 1976, the Karmann-styled TR6 was the first TR to have headlights positioned at the corners, the tail being radically redesigned with wrap-around rear bumpers. The Euro-spec cars were fitted with 150bhp engines, though power output was reduced to US levels and 124bhp for all cars from 1973.
Compared to other TR6s in the marketplace, this 1973-manufactured sports-car is a rarity, being a genuine UK car with original handbook. The vendor tells us that this classic Triumph, which is reluctantly being offered for sale today due to a move to London, was fully restored only 7000 miles ago, since when it has been always garaged and only driven in dry conditions.
Current condition of right-hand drive chassis is described as excellent and both open bodywork and Signal Red paintwork very good. The 2.5-litre six, the more desirable 150 bhp power unit, and 4-speed manual gearbox with overdrive are reportedly also in excellent order. The only 7335 mileage displayed is the genuine total since the rebuild, whilst MOT and tax disc are current until October.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
